Profile types by application

Extruded aluminum profiles group by geometry, and each family solves a different part of the job. Choosing starts by identifying what the piece has to do.

Tubes & rectangular profiles

Square and rectangular sections (1×1, 1×2, 1×4, 2×4, 1¾×1¾). The structural base of windows, doors, enclosures and frames. Larger section and wall thickness mean more rigidity for wide openings.

Angle profiles

Angles (¾×¾, 1×1, 2×2…) for frames, edge trims, corners, reinforcements and where two planes meet. They solve joints and edges a tube can't.

Round profiles

Why AA 6063-T5

AA 6063 is the go-to architectural aluminum alloy. Its composition lets you extrude thin, well-detailed sections —key for window and facade profiles— with adequate mechanical strength and excellent corrosion resistance, decisive in the Caribbean coastal climate. The T5 temper is the heat treatment that gives it the stable working hardness a construction profile needs.

Windows & doors

Start from the system (P65, P92, C70, M100, Traditional, AA Windows, Commercial Doors) since it defines the profile. Check sash fit, weatherstripping and hardware, plus wall thickness for the opening size.

Look for fascias and facade profiles with enough inertia to span without flexing, and define fixing and ventilation. In coastal areas, mind the finish because of salt air.

What is the best aluminum profile for construction?

There isn't a single one — it depends on the application. Windows and doors are ruled by the system (P65, P92, C70, M100…); facades use fascias and louvers; structures use rectangular tubes with angles. The practical rule is to choose by use, then tune section and wall thickness to the opening.

Why is the AA 6063-T5 alloy used?
